GROUPINGS
A photographer friend of mine showed me his most recent grouping of objects, and
I said how much I enjoyed them in that particular arrangement, quite apart from
what the objects literally were or meant.
Polyreferential art was what this was called in the art world, he told
me.
But then all of existence is polyreferential, it seemed to me. It is all groupings. I myself am a grouping, which is to say that I, too, am a collection of many things, body, mind, feelings, perceptions, arranged just so, regardless of what the many things literally are or mean.
